Workshop in Computational Biology
_______________________________________________________
The aim of the workshop is to provide researchers with sufficient training to initiate their own modeling projects and pursue effective collaborations with resource providers. The course will consist of morning introductory lectures and discussions followed by hands-on exercises and sessions using software for developing models and performing simulations.

Attendees will be introduced to the basics of developing computer models of biological systems. This workshop focuses on modeling cellular dynamics. Current experimental and computational models of cell cycle, signaling cascades and calcium dynamics provide the context for working with numerical models. Attendees are expected to walk away from the workshop with initial models of their biological systems, an ability to work with computational modeling tools and a better understanding of the applicability of modeling to their own area of research.
